Pumpkin swap: Storytime
Tuesday, August 2, 2011
Evil little mouse, plotting his victim's uses.
Tall Pumpkin has been put into service as a cozy home/lair
Round Pumpkin is a bit more lucky, working as a zombie monster slave.
What of the bumpy pumpkin?! What is his fate?! That shall be
the hostess card gift for this swap :)
Groove: Based on a 70's pattern I found online.

Kira, of Dark Crystal fame
Mokey, my favorite Fraggle
Beaker needs no introduction.
Crap, I promised myself I was going to write more in here! I finally got inspired and finished these two for a swap on atcsforall.com. I like Mokey better, because I'm improving in my watercolor technique a bit--Kira was done in a mixture of acrylic, Sharpie, and pen--and isn't as strong, but to be fair she didn't scan well.

I haven't been putting posts to these images, which is probably a shame--I suppose it might be interesting to hear what the artist thinks, how the work came about, et cetera. Or, it might just sound like self-important drivel!
Anyway!
This is my second watercolor piece, which isn't really watercolor per se, but watercolor PLUS watercolor Prismacolor pencils. I can't seem to just use the watercolors--I've never been trained with them, and I sort of lack the experience to figure out how to do what. I do enjoy it, especially darkening up things at the end, adding white highlights with acrylics--that step after you think everything is done, but it's not really.
Would there be any interest in progress shots, maybe a video of me drawing? I know at least one person out there was interested in drawing vids (I'm looking at you, Coyote)

New obsession alert.
Trading card art--wherein I desecrate tons of playing cards with art.
